Birchbox December 2017 Unboxing/Review

This month’s Birchbox is in collaboration with British fashion designer Matthew Williamson and the box design is very glamorous! Perfect for the festive season with its deep red colour and gold accents.

Here’s what I received this month –

Spectrum Collections B04 Angled Blender Brush (full size) – RRP £4.99

This month everyone receives the B04 brush and it’s a lovely Christmassy colour. I think it will be great for the contour of the eyes because it is quite a small brush so fits perfectly to give a subtle look – I’m not great at eye-shadow and if I use a brush that’s any bigger I risk ending up looking like Lily Savage! This brush is part of a set on the Spectrum website but it can be bought individually in the ‘pink’ collection.

LOC Vibrant Matte Lipstick in Colour me Confident (full size) – RRP £6.50

This is definitely the perfect lip colour for Christmas. at first I wasn’t sure because it looks very dark in the container but once on the lips it is the perfect rich-toned deep red. I would say it has slight pink undertones which makes it very flattering and doesn’t make your teeth look yellow, as some red lipsticks do.

Rituals ‘The Rituals of Ayurveda’ Foaming Shower Gel (full size) – RRP £4.50

This is my favourite product in this month’s box, it is such a lovely shower gel. I’ve seen a lot of Rituals products being advertised lately so have been dying to try something of theirs. This one has a gorgeous rose scent and feels very moisturising on the skin. It has been advertised as full size even though it’s 50ml and most Rituals shower gels are usually 200ml, however the RRP they have given does match the smaller size. Once this runs out I think I may have to give some of their other products a try.

Nip+Fab Kale Fix Moisturiser – RRP £14.95

If you’ve been following my blog for a while you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of Nip+Fab products, mainly because they genuinely do what they say they’ll do. This moisturiser is a blend of kale, watercress, aloe vera and almond oil ‘to soothe and rejuvenate the skin’. It’s a very thick consistency which feels extremely moisturising so I’ve been using it as a night cream and love it so far.

Kebelo Clarifying Shampoo – RRP £13.95

Am I the only one who gets a little underwhelmed by shampoos in beauty boxes? I think if the product came as a pair with a conditioner that would probably make it more exciting because I always like to match my shampoo and conditioner.

In fairness, this is a clarifying shampoo so it’s good to use every so often (rather than every wash) because it gives the hair a deep clean and removes any build up of product. I haven’t tried this one yet but I’m sure it will leave the hair feeling lovely and clean.

I’m pleased with this month’s box, it’s a really good selection and I should get plenty of use out of the products. This is the second makeup brush I’ve had so far in my Birchboxes which is good for me because I always feel like I can’t justify splurging on brushes so keep them coming Birchbox!
