Birchbox April 2018 Unboxing/Review (Cath Kidston)

This month Birchbox have collaborated with Cath Kidston in celebration of the brand’s 25th birthday. The box design is a lovely floral print and screams Cath Kidston! Here’s what I got in this month’s box –

Cath Kidston Hand Cream – Full Size – RRP £2.50 (£4 for larger size)

Everyone receives a Cath Kidston hand cream this month and its packaging matches that of the box design. It has a lovely fragrance (jasmine and orange flower) and it sinks straight into the skin, leaving no residue. It isn’t technically a full size product but I think the price given must relate to this product because the full size version is £4 in the Birchbox shop.

Model Co Baked Highlighter ‘Frose’ – RRP £24

This is the second product that everyone receives this month and we were able to choose from a bronze shade or the one that I went for – Frose. This one appears white with flecks of pink running through it. When applied with a brush over the cheeks it is a lovely blush shade that also illuminates the skin. For a more blinding highlight I would recommend applying with your fingers.

I was disappointed by the sample size because we generally get full size Model Co products with Birchbox but this one is teeny weeny! Hopefully the sample will last a while because I doubt I would pay £24 for a highlighter when there are so many amazing drug store ones available.

Beautaniq Beauty Fill + Tame Brow Gel (Full Size) – £8.60

It seems that brow gels are becoming a staple product to have in your makeup bag so it was great to receive one this month from a vegan, cruelty free brand. Unlike other brow gels, it doesn’t leave the brows feeling crunchy or sticky and it comes in three different shades – blonde, brunette and black. It’s quite a wet formula so I would recommend wiping off the excess before applying.

Polaar IcePure Gentle Scrub – RRP 23.50

This gentle facial exfoliator contains arctic cotton to smooth and soften the skin. It would be great for anyone who worries about irritating their skin because it isn’t extremely coarse for a scrub and it’s recommended for use twice a week so this sample should last quite a while.

Hask Coconut Oil Deep Conditioner (Full Size) – RRP £2.49

Another thing that is all the rage at the moment is coconut oil so I’m interested to try this hair mask. Coconut oil is said to have re-hydrating and softening qualities (as well as the scent that reminds EVERYONE of their holidays!). The pouch is 50ml so I’m expecting to get around two applications from this.
