This month’s Birchbox theme is ‘Days like these…’ which is about welcoming the new season and cosying up at home. Here’s what I got this month –
BeautyPro Thermotherapy Warming Gold Foil Mask – RRP £5.95
Everyone will receive a BeautyPro sheet mask this month and we were given the choice of a gold or silver one. I wasn’t fussed either way so I asked them to surprise me. The gold mask is infused with hyaluronic acid and regenerating Q10. The self-warming foil helps the ingredients to penetrate the skin. I can’t wait to use it!
This isn’t a brand I had heard of before but it turns out that it’s a company based in New York that produce quirky makeup products which are cruelty free and don’t contain harsh chemicals. I really recommend you check out their website if you like trying out fun makeup brands – https://www.winkylux.com/. This strobing balm is easy to apply and can either be applied very subtly or built up for a stronger highlight.
Amika Soulfood Nourishing Mask – RRP £20
Amika is a professional brand of haircare with fun packaging. I’ve had a few products from them before and they are always really good. This hair mask is no exception, I’ve used it today and it has left my hair extremely soft and shiny so I will definitely be grabbing a full size one. This was a 20ml sample which gave me one use because I have long, thick hair. If you have shorter, finer hair you will probably get a couple of uses out of it.
Daily Concepts Charcoal Soap Sponge – RRP £6
One of my favourite things about Birchbox is being able to try unusual products that you wouldn’t normally find in shops and this is no exception – a soap and exfoliating sponge in one. I couldn’t resist testing this out straight away and I’m really impressed with it, it left my skin feeling really fresh and smooth. Daily Concepts are another brand who pride themselves on being cruelty free and using natural ingredients, check them out here – https://dailyconcepts.com/
Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant (Bergamot & Lime) – RRP £10.50
This deodorant is made from 100% all natural ingredients and essential oils. They’ve replaced the aluminium with plant-based powders to neutralise scent and absorb dampness. I’ve been testing this out for the last couple of days and it has performed well. Although, aluminium free deodorants make me nervous because I’ve tried a few recently that just didn’t work on busy days when I was rushing around. So far, this one has worked fine and has a lovely lime scent. The only downside is that it’s very coarse so feels rough on application (I’m guessing this comes from the bicarbonate of soda). I’d say it’s well worth a try for anyone who is ingredient conscious and doesn’t sweat a huge amount.
Lumene Overnight Hydration Cream – RRP £17.90
So this month, Birchbox have spoilt us with an additional item. It’s a sachet sample and I’m really hoping Birchbox make this a regular thing because it’s always nice to receive an extra treat, especially from high-end brands such as Lumene.
High 5 to Birchbox!
I’m really impressed with this month’s Birchbox, we’ve received three full sized items (the sheet mask, 2in1 soap/sponge and deodorant) and those products alone total £22.45! It seems that Birchbox have really upped their game and listened to customer feedback so roll on next month!
